TRAINING

WCAP (Web Consortium Asia Pacific) aims to promote and spread W3C, web technology, and its standardization in the Asia-Pacific region. As part of this activity, we provide free web technology training for Asian countries.

At present (March 14, 2025), WCAP training is “Web Production Training” that allows graduates to work as an immediate work resource of a professional web production team. WCAP, however, is rapidly developing various training programs. By the middle of 2025, Verifiable Credentials training course is scheduled to be completed. Accessibility and security training will also be developed and implemented in sequence.

WCAP training in English is operated by Internet Academy, a professional organization that has provided web technology training to more than 90,000 students in the past. The quality of the training is guaranteed.

The maximum number of people per training session is 20. Participants' IT skills should be sufficient to send and receive emails, have basic conversation skills in English, and be able to create documents. Students and working adults are both welcome.

For example, the training is 26 hours total, but the structure can be adapted to local needs — such as 8 hours face-to-face + online learning.

The following four steps are required on your side:

  1. Select the organization that will manage the event in your country.
  2. Decide on the venue and a date for face-to-face training (max 8 hours). WCAP will coordinate schedules and notify the implementing organization.
  3. The organization recruits participants. Optionally link to WCAP's training page.
  4. Send participants' English names and email addresses to WCAP at least 10 days before training.

From #4, the training instructor will contact participants and provide manuals and setup guides in advance.

After the training, WCAP issues a digital certificate — helpful for the trainee’s career, including if they seek work in Japan. WCAP will support them.

This training can be offered as an incentive for talent development in your country or part of a high-level HR development program.
